And just like that, our three year tour in Italy has come to an end. It definitely felt like an extended honeymoon as we explored and traveled Europe one weekend at a time.
My next assignment would bring me back to Korea and unfortunately, Rac and Isa will have to stay in the Philippines while I complete my tour. Before I start though, it’s time again for some traveling! Because it was another overseas assignment, the Air Force would be paying for a big chunk of our travel. This is definitely one perk in the service that I definitely value!
From Venice, Italy, we are going back to the Philippines for some much needed R&R. Getting ready for the move was a monumental task and we just wanted to relax and enjoy some quality time with some family. I’d also use this time to check on the progress of a business venture back home. Now, a trip back home would not be complete without going to the beach so at the last minute, we booked a flight to Cebu to have some fun in the sun.
After our visit back home, we headed to Las Vegas! We would be meeting up with my business partner as well as explore the Vegas Trip! It is Rac’s first time in Vegas so we ended up booking a couple of shows and trying out some buffets! Additionally, I will be attending Frequent Traveler University which is a 3-day event that is all about miles and points. I’ve always wanted to go to one of these gatherings and fortunately, the timing worked out this time. To get around, we ended up getting a rental car and for our accommodations, I booked a night at the DoubleTree Hilton Las Vegas Airport Hotel and then 4 nights at the Luxor. I used Hilton points for our DoubleTree stay and I used my Citi Prestige card to book our stay at the Luxor which meant that I get the 4th night free!
After Vegas, we drive home to Los Angeles to spend some quality time with family. We are big foodies so we went around and tried out a bunch of food spots. On Cinco De Mayo, we drove all the way to Tijuana, Mexico to enjoy the festivities and east some authentic Mexican Food! Before heading back, we explored parts of San Diego as well.
Finally, our little vacation had to come to a close. We boarded our flights headed to Incheon, South Korea. Once we got there, I had to say goodbye to my girls as they had a connecting flight to Manila. There were no goodbyes as we were planning to see each other again in a couple of months.
This definitely concludes our magical tour in Italy. Again, no goodbyes, only Arrivederci!
Now, onto our one year Korea adventure!
